Dr. Gammage has been taking care of all my fur babies since the 80's. For the last 10 years my sweet bull dog, Boxer. As a puppy he was extremely sick and Dr. Gammage searched her vet books and found the strange diagnosis. Literally saved his life. Yesterday he ripped his toes and nail in his front paw. The doctor 's office was closed but she had me meet her at the clinic. She gave him meds to calm down and rest last night and she will be doing surgery in Boxer soon. I truly appreciate her and her staff.

I was taken back at how this Vet office operates (or fails to do so). There is no animal control or any type of shelter in the area, and they refused to take three one day old kittens that were starving to death. The mother was a sick stray that had them and had no milk to feed them. I explained this to the receptionist who acted as though she had better things to do. The vet ( I hate to even call her that) would not spare a little compassion for the animals, but had plenty of time to call me back and act like a complete idiot when I told them that they should be ashamed, I understand that they don't take in strays, that is not what they do. Given the situation I would have expected a person who claims to have compassion for animals spare a few cents to put an end to their suffering. they are the only vet in the area and they could have been a shining example. Instead, they were a poster board of greed.
Home town place. They know you and try to help you to the best of their ability. They ARE NOT A SHELTER and are not funded to take in animals. Crenshaw County doesn't have a shelter, but 2 rescue groups that you can donate to :) Crenshaw Animal Society and Animal Tails Rescue.
